Matt, a former tri-athlete, is the son and one of nine children of Eileen and Mike Long. Mike Long owned and operated "Long's Ice Cream Parlor" on Crescent and Fulton in ENY during the 60's/ 70's. I worked for Mike through my years in high school at St. John's Prep and we are still friends today. Mike. a former Marine, is a cla** act and has a wonderful family that he is extremely proud. Mike is also the Chairman of the NYS Conservative Party. God Bless Matt for his valiant effort to go back and run the Marathon after all his painful and disabling injuries suffered when being crushed by a bus trying to bike to his firefighters job during the transit strike a few years ago. Regards to all and your families. Eddie O'Toole |
