Date: Fri 06/6/08 3:46PM From: Rich Moore Email: mrich718@aol.com Message: Hi Lisa, It sure has been a long time since we've seen each other! Glad to hear that yous sister & brother are fine. Geez, he was still teething when I remember seeing him last...George Power lived in the apartment house on the corner (289 Arlington), and yep, he was my cousin. He's still around somewhere in Woodhaven. I remember that great Thunderbird that your folks had and the time that your grandmother made stew out of your pet rabbit, boy or boy, you were NOT happy! Great to hear that the Pontillo's are still around, I remember them to be Joey, Susan and Frankie. I've not been back to the neighborhood in years, but now I find myself pining for it. I've been in touch with the webmaster, and I'm going to scan him a few pics and some stories from the old neighborhood. Damn, I remember Bill & Betty's like it was yesterday, with Tony pushing his cart around making his deliveries. I'm now a corporate banker on Wall Street handling cash management customers, been down here for 36 years now. So hard to believe that the years have gone by so quickly...It's great to hear from you, I wasn't sure if you'd remember me. I recall playing tag on Linwood Street and that game with "Germany' in it. Those were simple pleasures, and some of the best days of our lives. I found the third grade pictures that our teacher took (Miss Mosiorowski), one of the boys, one of the girls. I still get a kick out of those little bow ties that I had to wear! I was married for 13 years, divorced in '90 and now happily living on my own in Middle Village. I plan to retire to Florida, but that's still a way's off. I'll be 56 this year, so 6 more years should pa** quickly, just like the first 56 did. Oye! Please keep in touch, I still can't believe that I've found this site, and hope to run into more of my old friends from Cypress Hills. Hugs to You and All! Rich |

Date: Wed 06/4/08 12:31PM From: Rich Moore Email: mrich718@aol.com Message: Hey to Joey Perrone, Yep, that was me, I was the fool that wasn't smart enough to see Brooklyn South coming over the fences. I was sitting by the picnic table with Marie Boccio watching McClafferty play basketball. I did see you slip out of the park between 2 of the girls (our long hair back then DID come in handy now and then). I spent a few hours down at the 75th in the cage that night and my Dad came down to get me out. I really miss the days (and nights) when we'd be hanging out in front of Pat Affissio's house on Cleveland Street up from Fulton. I haven't been back to the neighborhood for many years, but think about it often. Those were some very good days then, especially when we weren't in some kind of trouble! Thanks for the shout back, good to hear from you- Rich Moore |
