The orange drink sold there was the best and the only thing that ever came close was the orange drink at Nedick's if you could find one back then. There was also and old satnd of abandonded houses up near the Indian Bridge. I wonder if they still exist or were they all burned in the fire you mentioned. |

I lived on Vermont st. and saw the aftermath,I recall going up to the park with my parents and you could still smell the smoke in the air. The house remained up and abandoned for quite a while.Also, re Highland Park, does anyone remember the small, rounded type concession that stood at the parking lot opposite the resevoir? It sold hot dogs and orange drinks.I think that burned down too. |
