Playing punch all on Pine Street, hitting it out into Fulton Street. If you hit the el, it was a home run. Wilkens Ice Cream Parlor, Tilotta's, Longs, Hamburg Savings bank, the Embassy theater, PS 65...I am in the photo from 1958. Went to JHS 171, and then to Brooklyn Tech. Spent many a summer in the Cypress Hills swimming pool. My cousin was a cop in the 75th Pct. and used to get me passes. Played ball at the East New York HS softball field. Visited Houdini's grave site at Cypress Hills cemetery. Used to visit relatives in Ridgewood with my parents going through Snake Hill road. It was a great place to grow up. Thanks for your website. Brought back many happy memories. Barry |
