My name is Joe DeStio, I married Mary Simeti from Jamaica Avenue and Norwood Avenue. Her girlfriend Sandy Olito used to date a Mikie Laird, I believe they were married and had twins. We were wondering if this was the same family. If so, we had many friends on Ridgwood and Essex Streets; Mickey Conroy, the Tinkler brothers, Jaimie, etc. Also, Anthony DeNatale (Tyrone) from Crescent Street. We also had many parties in the basement of the Laird house on Ridgewood Avenue (if I remember Mikie created a mock electric chair.....in that basement.....smile.
