We used to call the area in between the two villages (at the flagpole) Fishers. Any idea why? What a great place to grow up. Willie's, walking to Barneys for candy. Hanging around in front of key food hoping some lady would give you a quarter to carry her packages home. That was the life. |

White Castles, Willys ices, Barneys Candy store, Key Food supermarket where i got my first job. Sal Abbrachmentos pizza. Stick ball, stoop ball and softball games in the middle of the village.
