That's sad about Tommy the Butcher - he was a great guy too. I also worked for awhile for Nick the Butcher - on Pitkin between Shepherd & Berriman, practically next to Moe's. I will never have a better knish then those I remember from Moe's. |

He was in the hospital already or he would have had another heart attack! Also, my cousin Frank told me that Tommy the butcher was shot and killed after he relocated his butcher shop. I remember when I was little he used to give me raw hot dogs to eat while my mom shopped, lol. It tasted like bologna. I can't even imagine doing that today!! yuk. |

Date: Mon 04/16/07 12:24PM From: Michael Biscuiti Email: michael.biscuiti@gmail.com Message: Does anyone else remember them laying out Father Fusco right in the Youth Center when he died right after it opened? I walked past the casket and passed out; it was my first dead body. How about when Perry Como came to visit Father LaRocca (I think his wife's cousin or something) and would attend mass? Father LaRocca used to take the altar boys on a summer outing to Perry's house up in Sands Point. I never did get to go, but my brother Alex did. |

Lenore - When I worked for your uncle we never listened to music and danced. Joey must have had Uncle Harry cringing. He had great coldcuts though, and used to cringe at the sandwiches I would make for myself. I also delivered meat orders for Tommy the Butcher across the street from the grocery. |
