Message: I lived on Logan Street between Pitkin and Belmont. I graduated from Blessed Sacrament grammar school in 1962 and went to St. Michael's Commercial H.S. My uncle's name is Danny Ferraro who also lived in East N.Y. You'll probably remember him more than me. I now live in Florida. Would love to hear from anyone in East New York. Those were the good old days.

Message: Hey Mike I sure do remember the Lyric Theater on the corner of Hendrix .At one point my Dad , Mom and the youngest of the kids were still young lived at 304 Hendrix between Liberty and Glenmore . Me and my brothers Eddie & Robbie was a fixture at Brandt's Ice Cream Patlor . Then when we got old enough to drink we moved acrross the street to the other corner --------Van Sicklen & Pitkin where the bar and grill was
I don't remember the name of that bar but I remember our other bar hang outs. Stashes on Jerome & Pitkin, Tommy the Bulls on Pitkin & Schenk, and there was another one on Pitkin between Schenk and Hendrix on your side of the street. Ber was 15 cents a glass.
The policy at all the bars was the same. Beer was 15 cents a glass and you paid for 3 and the 4th one was on the house. What a great memory !!!!! Later , JIM

Message: Lived at 328 Williams Avenue (1959-62), then 71 Glen Street (1962-67), then 102 Glen Street (1967-68), then 334 Crescent Street (1968-78), finally 85-75 75 Street Woodhaven (1978-95) before moving to Connecticut. Attended PS 65 (1964-70), IS 171 (1970-73), Lane (1973-77). While at IS 171 I remember during lunch period we went to Cedar Lane Farms at the corner of Nichols Avenue and O'Brien Place to get a hero sandwich, ice cream or a bag of Bazooka gum. They had soft salty pretzels. A few times I saw the coal being delivered to IS 171 and PS 65 thru a basement window. I wonder if those two schools still heat with coal?
