Date: Sat 01/13/07 5:36PM From: frank delarosa Email: fd1165@rcn.com Message: hey there everyone, i remember "junky joes" on fulton street very well. i used to buy jeans and sneakers and other stuff there all the time when i was a young kid. the store didnt have a name in front, i think it was just a nickname people in the neighborhood gave it. my mother would tell me to go there after school on the way home from saint rita's and pick up anything i needed. the two brothers knew my whole family. they would keep a tally of what we took. my mom would then pay for it on her way home from work after getting off at the cleveland st station. sometimes they would even wait until my mom got paid the next week. name any store today that would do that. i can't for the life of me remember the brothers names. i have to ask my mom if she remembers. |
