Message: Wow, what a blast from the past. I lived on Cleveland St. one block from Moe's bar. The address was 167 Cleveland St. I lived there with my mom and dad, Mary and Augie and my brothers Stephen and Anthony and sister Mary Edith. My dad grew up on Cleveland St. also but his house was close to Atlantic Avenue. He lived there with his brothers Ciro, Michael and Joseph / Juju and his sister Justina. I am in the Saint Rita's 1966 First grade photo. I am the one in the forward most desk next to the cute brunette. I will never forget Sister Miriam Joseph, she broke a wooden yard stick over my head in front of the whole class! My hats off to Frank Lombardo for the photo, he was one of my neighbors and my family knew his quite well!

Please contact me via this website if you can.

I'm trying to get in touch with a guy you may remember. His name is Louie Cocchiolo and you Uncle Joe and his family lived in a house he owned after they lived off Fulton St.
Any help you can give me with this is appreciated. I also remember your cousin Joey and his sisters.

Thanks,

Message: I lived on Eldert Lane (the Queens side!!) but I went to 171 and Franklin K. Lane. 171 was P.S. 171 when I graduted from 9th grade there in 1952, but when my oldest son went there, in 1958, I believe it was I.S. 171, and only went to 8th grade. I attended Andrews Methodist Church on Richmond street (it was never St. Andrews - Methodists don't have saints) and have pictures of the Brooklyn Sunday School Union parades with myself and my brother, as well as two of my sons.

Message: Hi Lucy! Imagine that, my next door neighbor
popping up on the site. I've sent you an email privately and look forward to hearing from you. The Gomes lived at 120 Ashford from 1960 to 1980 and it was my mother who took most of those pictures. The genesis of this website should be dedicated to her.

Message: Trying to locate the person who took the pictures at 120 Ashford. I lived at 122 Ashford from 1951-1968 I have almost identical pictures of the floods taken in the same spot in 1967. I see my old house in some of the pictures. I have more pictures of the neighborhood. Where can I send them? This is a fantastic work and I want to thank the people who put it together. We've already passed it on to lots of people around the country. Thanks again. Lucy Patini Ellis, New Port Richey, Florida

Message: My dad and his 5 sisters lived at
750 Liberty Avenue. I see alot of
people mention Zips, which I think was
directly across from my grandmothers house.

My dad's name was Pat Giordano. My grandfather had the gas station on the corner of Liberty and Essex.
