And some extra special Merry Christmas/Happy New Year wishes to Rick Gomes for creating this stunning and historic time portal to the beautiful neighborhood we all knew and loved! Truly breathtaking images, wonderful ‘people’ shots, excellent history and excellent background of Cypress Hills/East New York! Thanks Rick! And thank you for giving of yourself so generously! And since it’s Christmas, this is for Rick’s mom, Mrs. Nell Gomes – Mrs. Gomes, Rick tells me you used to make the Christmas ornaments at Reformation Church? Christmas always reminds me of the “Santa Claus Luncheons” at Reformation in the 1960s - my mom used to take us, and she bought some of the Christmas ornaments (which, more than likely, included your handiwork). I see them on the Reformation page in the 1964 color shot of your son Bruce in front of Santa’s Gift Shop - we had the dog with the big floppy ears, the snowman with the top hat, and the clown with the big pointy hat.
