Cleveland St was Jefferson St. It was renamed for President Clevelad Crescent St. was Cypress Ave. East New York Ave was Flatbush Road Glenmore Ave was Baltic Road or Ave. Hendrix St. was Smith St. Junius St. was Johnson Ave. Liberty Ave was a free road for farmers while Jamaica Ave was a toll road Pitkin Ave was named for John R. Pitkin, the founder of E N Y. In 1835 he purchased the Linnington, Wyckoff, Stoothoff, Van Sicklen and Atkins farms near the Howard estate. Pitkin Ave was originally named Broadway, then Eastern Parkway until the other Eastern Parkway was built 1871 - 1874 Riverdale Ave was Rapelye Ave Snediker Ave was named for John R Snediker who kept a tavern. Stanly Ave was Stoothoff Ave. Sutter Ave was formerly Union Ave Van Sinderen Ave was Vesta Ave Warwick St. was Washington St Wyona St was Wyckoff Ave |

Next door was a candy store, Murray's pool room and a small synagogue.Tuesday or Thursday was "Dish Night" when gold trim dishes were given out to the ladies.Many a housewife collected an entire multi-piece or even several.
