My Mother's family (Cannizzaro) graduated from PS 64 in the late 30's, my Aunt Nettie Colletti in '43 or '44 and I graduated in '55. Interestingly, all of us had some of the same teachers (Mrs. Speer, for one). Aunt Nettie tells me that, yes, there was an auditorium on the 4th floor (rarely used) and surrounded by cla**rooms on either side of it. When it was in use, you had to go down a flight of stairs to get to the other side--couldn't interrupt whatever was going on at the time. Look forward to poring through more of these great memories and hope to find my yearbook pictures to send to you. |
