I went to St Rita's from kindergarten until 8th grade. then it was off to St. Michael's HS. I was 16 when I moved from Brooklyn, having lived on Liberty Avenue across from Nappo's Bakery and then on Linwood Street down the block from Blanda's funeral home. I keep in touch with Kathy Coletto and Luisa Fileteo DiMondo. It's great to see faces. I promise to send in some photos I have too. |

Date: Mon 08/23/10 10:51AM From: Carter Email: cart49@comcast.net Message: I heard from Olga a number of years ago through cla**mates. If I recall she lived upstate New York. She told me Nick's cousin Andy, who we use to hang around with with us and live at Pine & Etna, died in the 1970's and his brother Chris move to Atlanta. I was there at the time when Nick was hit by the car. We were all horseplaying grabbing each others book and running around. Bruce Hayes had Nicks book and we were all chasing him and Nick got hit by the car. 6 years later Bruce Hayes died in Viet Nam. He was a marine. We were all playing and we just did not watch out for the cars. It was just a shame with no one at fault. I remember that day until I die. |
