I believe it was called simply "Demolition Car". It sold for about 10 cents in those days. There was a little lever on the cha**is that was spring loaded. You snap it down, snap the car together and when the car hit anything the spring would trip and the car would fly apart. I had one. Wish I still had it today. Hah. |

The 1940's when I was growing up was an innocent time - when you would hear the birds singing and see a blade of gra** between the concrete. Somehow the air seem cleaner and the sun would shine thru the elevator train tracks which would tell you the time of day. (believe it or not) The sounds of the day were always heart warming. |
