My brother, Kenny went to PS 76 for kindergarten but after that went to P.S. 108, as did I. And yes, we lived in that house on the corner of Hendrix and Fulton. And yes again to your question about the "K" names. We all had to have "K" names because my father's name was Ken and it began with a "K". Good to hear from you. Thanks for remembering. Karen |

Date: Mon 02/1/10 6:00AM From: Mario Zambrano Email: franshley@yahoo.com Message: This is for Karen N., Did you have a brother named Kenny? As a matter of fact, did everyone in your family have a first name that started with the letter 'K'? I lived on Hendrix between Fulton and Atlantic Ave from '68 to '82. Did you guys live on the corner building of Hendrix street, opposite the dry cleaners and drug store owned by the La Jolla brothers? Anyway, if its the Karen I knew, great hearing from you but if it isn't, good to hear from a fellow. East New Yorker! Question, did you or any of your brothers or sisters go to PS 76? |

I see that you lived on Hendrix Street. I did also. If you don't mind my asking, where on Hendrix did you live and during what time frame? Karen |

Date: Fri 01/29/10 2:14PM From: Mario Zambrano Email: franshley@yahoo.com Message: Dom, How are you? Ask your sister, Stella, how comes she doesn't write back? I write to her and she doen't reply! Anyway pal, I see here that you are talking about our beloved Highland Park and I agree 100% Those winters of walking up to the park with our sleds and then going down that hill, hitting the bump and flying thru the air was absolutely the best thrill that a kid could ever get! I have to tell you that for the past two years, I have been getting together with friends from my old block and we have been going back to the park to play some football(two-hand touch!). since we are all in our late-40's and above, we are playing every other Sunday morning because it takes us a week to recover!! East New York forever baby! |
